Q: How does your scheduling work?
A: I generally require a minimum of 8 hours on site, however I'm available for up to 12 hours in a single day if requested. I typically do not need to be at a clients office on days when there is nothing pertaining to the accounting function, unless requested.

Q: How flexible are you?
A: I ensure that I am available for important tasks, such as regular payroll days, investor meetings, or to provide simple services such as getting coins and small currency, or making cash drops, on off days, depending on the type of business. Some clients have limited office space so to facilitate sharing of a desk I try to schedule days when it's most convenient.

Q: How is payment handled?
A: A detailed invoice is submitted for payment every week, or every 2 weeks. I generally file 1096 and 1099's for clients annually, via paper filing or electronically, for any applicable vendors including myself.

Q: Are you a CPA?
A: No, I am a Full Charge Bookkeeper. I typically laiase with the CPA once a year, or periodically if there are other matters to discuss.

Q: Who do you report to?
A: I generally report to the owner/CEO of the company, while working with corporate or managerial staff and providing them with what information, assistance, reporting, etc. is approved by the owner/CEO. As accounting information is sensitive, it is regarded with the utmost privacy and security.

Q: Do you work via W2 as a regular employee?
A: No, I find that it has best served my clients and myself to provide service as a contractor. This reduces payroll overhead and eliminates additional time on site when it is often otherwise not necessary.

Q: How do you handle federal and state tax authorities?
A: I have a good relationship with the IRS, NYS and NYC tax authorities and understand their purpose, how to avoid difficulties and how to resolve issues.

Q: Can you understate the sales and sales tax to offset the amount of numerous parking tickets I received from the city?
A: No.

Q: What other services do you provide?
A: Limited IT support, especially when pertaining to functioning and updated accounting and office computers, networking and network security.

Q: What is your goal in the workplace?
A: To provide the best and most accurate accounting. To facilitate prosperity and success for the company. To work in and provide the most mutually respectful, beneficial and professional atmosphere for everyone.

Q: How do you handle payroll?
A: My favorite go-to for payroll is ADP. With very minimal cost, they assume a lot of liability and handle a lot of the paperwork.

Q: What is your favorite book?
A: The SEC Handbook.
